Your health information
What you tell our practitioners stays between you and the people caring for you. This is a short, plain account of what we ask, who sees it, and how to get to your own records — no forms, no legalese.
What this is
When you come to River’s Edge, you tell us things you would not tell most businesses — your health history, your medications, what you want to change and why. This page explains, plainly, what we do with that.
What we keep
Your contact details, the health history and consent forms you complete, notes from your consultations and treatments, records of the services you have had, and any photographs you have agreed to.
Where it is kept
Your record lives in Boulevard, the secure booking and records system we use to run the practice, along with any clinical photographs you have consented to. It is not kept on this website, and this website cannot read it.
Who can see it
River’s Edge staff who are involved in your care, and the administrative staff who schedule you and take payment. Our staff are trained to treat what you tell us as confidential, and access is limited to what each person needs to do their job.
When we would share it
Only in these situations:
Photographs
Before-and-after photographs are only taken with your consent, and consent to take a photograph is not consent to publish it. Those are two separate permissions and we ask for them separately.
You may withdraw consent to publication at any time by contacting us, and we will stop using the image going forward.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct something that is wrong, give you a copy for another provider, or delete what we are not required to keep. Ask at the front desk, email admin@riversedgedurango.com, or call (970) 422-5528.
Requests about your clinical record are handled by our Medical Director, Ashley Sutton.
We will not treat you differently for asking, and there is no charge for a reasonable request.
A note on HIPAA
River’s Edge is a cash-pay practice and does not bill health insurance, which means we are generally not a “covered entity” under HIPAA. We are not claiming HIPAA status here, and this page is not a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
We hold your information in confidence because it is the right way to treat it — and because Colorado law and our professional obligations require it — not because a federal regulation compels this notice.
If that ever changes, this page will change with it and we will tell you.
